Green Meadows Farm visited Fort George as part of our educational curriculum program to encourage children to have a first-hand learning experience of seeing, touching, holding and interacting with a variety of animals.

 

 

Alumnus Inspires at Moving On Ceremony

Alfredo Barbier, member of the first graduating class of 1982 spoke to children and their families at this years Moving On Ceremony.

Mr. Barbier has distinguished himself in the field of Business Management. He completed his primary and secondary education in the New York Public School System attending PS 189 and IS 143 and a graduate of Norman Thomas High School. Mr. Barbier earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Pace University and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Iona College with a concentration in information technology.  His message was very inspirational and meaningful as a former student who grew up in Washington Heights.

Mr. Barbier received the first “Making the Difference” award from his Alma Mater, Ft. George Head Start.

PBS’s Sid the Science Kid at Fort George

Sid the Science Kid, a research project in collaboration with PBS Channel 13 introduced a variety of science tools and terminology as well as hands on experiments with several of the classes.

This was a research project funded by WNET-13 and research conducted by the Goodman Research Group.
