March 17, 2020
Dear Fort George HeadStart/EarlyHeadStart and 3K/UPK Community,
Monday March 16, 2020 the Agency made the decision to close our HeadStart/EarlyHeadStart and 3K/UPK center based programs in accordance with the Department of Education (DOE) closure and NYC Department of Health (DOH) recommendation; due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Fort George will reopen under the guidance of the New York City Department of Health and the New York City Department of Education.
Before we reopen the schools will undergo extensive cleaning, in accordance with the CDC guidelines.
Our top priority is the health and safety of our children, staff and families. Effective March 23, 2020 each family will receive communications from their child’s teachers regarding the setup of our Agency’s remote/distance learning process. Also families will receive communications from their family advocate.
We are committed to supporting everyone through this closure and look forward to reopening. If you have additional questions, please direct them to your supervisor.
Be well
